Roger Dale Cooper, Sr, age 61, of Burtchville, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 in his home unexpectedly.
He was born May 24, 1951 in Pontiac.
Roger married the former Helen F. Finch on June 22, 1974 in First Church of The Nazarene in Port Huron.
He served as an engineer in the U.S. Army from 1971-1973 in Germany. Roger was a truck driver for many years retiring in 2006 and was an avid hunter.
Roger is survived by his wife, Helen F. Cooper of Burtchville; daughter, Dana (Dennis) Winchell of Burtchville; son, Roger (Breanna) Cooper, Jr of Burtchville; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Tyler Winchell and Andrew Cooper; mother, Virginia “Sue” Cooper of Marysville; brother, Dan Cooper of Chandler, AZ; brother, Jesse (Stephanie) Cooper of Port Huron; sister, Diane (Vic) Dombrowski of Port Sanilac and sister Denise Cooper of Marysville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Teddy George Cooper.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. James Huff will officiate. Burial will follow in Burtchville Township Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 2-4 & 6-8pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
