William H. Campbell, 84, of Port Huron Township, died in his home after a long illness, on Sunday, May 19, 2013, surrounded by his family.
He was born August 4, 1928 in Port Huron. He married Connie Cocco Schroeder on Sept. 11, 1965 in Port Huron.
Bill served in the U. S. Army in Korea during the Korean War. He retired from the Coca Cola Bottling Company. He was a very likeable and giving person and would help anybody. He loved being around his family and friends and also loved the outdoors, gardening, animals and sports, especially baseball.
Bill is survived by his wife Connie J. Campbell of Port Huron; a daughter, Crystal Nelms of Port Huron; a son, Clark (Lynette) Schroeder of Avoca; two grandsons, Corey Nelms and Micheal Schroeder, both of Florida; a sister, Betty DeRush of Port Huron and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Campbell; a son, Charles M. Schroeder and faithful canine companion, Frankie.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
