Margaret Marie Schock, 90 of Port Huron Township, died Monday, June 3, 2013 in Mercy Hospital.
She was born May 23, 1923 in Bad Axe. She married Laverne J. Schock on September 5, 1945 in St. Peter and Paul Church in Ruth, MI.
Margaret owned and operated a beauty shop for many years and was a receptionist for Dr. Gholz. Margaret and Laverne traveled to Europe, took cruises and wintered in Florida for 30 years.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Laverne J.; a daughter, Ginny (Marty) Zimmer of St. Clair, sons, Ron (Ellen) Schock of Clyde, Jerry (Marianne) Schock of Port Huron, a son, Dale (Kathleen) Norton-Schock of Bloomfield Hills, and a son, John (Sherry) Schock of Raleigh, NC; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Doreen (Greg) Corby of Sterling Heights, Mary Ann (Don) Gentner of Harbor Beach, Judy (Dick) Peterson, Bad Axe, Marilyn (Bob) Auberle of Clawson; and 2 sisters-in-law, Clara Essenmacher, Ruth, MI and Margie Schock of Port Huron. She was preceded in death in 1962 by her daughter, JoAnn. Her brother John also preceded her in death.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 in Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. Thursday in the church. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.
