James T "Skip" Brown
Ft. Gratiot - James T. “Skip” Brown, 52, Passed away while vacationing on Forget Me Not Lane, Little Kennisis Lake, Canada, surrounded by his friends on August 16, 2013, from a sudden heart attack.
He was born May 7, 1961 in Mt. Clemens. He married Renee Sax on March 31, 1990 in First Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on July 20, 1999.
Skip enjoyed riding his bicycle, boating, watching all types of racing, camping at Boulder Beach and sports including water sports. He was “The Guy” friends and family would call when they needed a handyman. Before his retirement he was fondly known as “The Milkman”.
He is survived by his son, Matt; sister, Cindy (Larry) Gould; nephew, Cory Gould; parents-in-law, Mickey and Betty Sax; loving girlfriend, Mickie Renshaw and many other family members and friends.
Skip was preceded in death by his wife Renee Sax-Brown and his parents, Lloyd and Gloria Brown.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 1-4 & 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family to be used for Matt’s college education.
