Beatrice Cowger

Marysville- Beatrice B. Cowger, age 80, passed peacefully into God's arms on Saturday, November 12, 2005 following a long illness. She was born on November 1, 1925 in Detroit, and had lived in Marysville most of her life. She married William D. Cowger Sr, he preceded her in death on March 13, 1997. Beatrice graduated from Marysville High School in 1943. She retired from the St. Clair I.G.A. and was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, the K of C Auxiliary and she enjoyed ceramics. She loved her family, friends and everyone she came in contact with. She is survived by children, Sheila A. (Thomas) Jobbitt of Burtchville; Sandra S. (David) Fennell of Ionia; William D. (Carol) Cowger, Jr of Ft. Gratiot; Robert D. (Kim) Cowger of Midland and Jeanette O. (Thomas) Miller of Ft. Gratiot. 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Brother, Leo (Bertha) Nicefield of Port Huron; sisters, Lorraine (Don) Gerstenberger of Oxford and Shirley Morrison of Port Huron Twsp. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Rev. Arthur R. Baranowski, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Monday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorial tributes may be given to St. Christopher Catholic Church or Blue Water Hospice.
