Nina Thompson

Fort Gratiot - Nina M. Thompson, 87, died Monday, January 16, 2006 in her home. She was born in Prarie Farm Wisconsin on November 20, 1918 the daughter of Frederick and Martha Pariseau. Her family moved to Michigan some years later. She married Howard J. Thompson on August 10, 1938 in Port Huron. He died December 14, 2003. Nina was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was always willing to donate her time to school projects, the PTA and the Girl Scouts. She loved cooking for her family and friends and then would spend the evening playing cards. Nina retired from the St. Clair County Health Department in 1973. She is survived by her daughters, Toni (Scott) Durance of Ft. Gratiot and Jeri Pederson of Port Huron; grandsons, Robert (Donna) Watters, Jr. and Jeffrey (Shelley) Watters, both of Burtchville; granddaughter, Jodi (John) Lucas of Port Huron and 5 great grandchildren. Private family services will be held with Pastor Tim Eichberger officiating. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Dear children do not weep for me- I'm exactly where I want to be.
