Donald Engelgau

August 28th, 1930 to January 17th, 2006
Port Huron - Donald Raymond Engelgau, 75, a business executive who worked for Mueller Brass Company for more than 35 years, died January 17, 2006 at his home in Port Huron. He was born August 28, 1930 in Port Huron, the only son of the late Raymond and Marie Engelgau. Mr. Engelgau received a Bachelors's degree in economics from Michigan State University in 1954. He joined Muellers in 1954, rising to senior management prior to retiring. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Engelgau of Port Huron; one daughter, Donna Lynn (Stephen) Koslow of Rockville, MD; three sons, Timothy Donald Engelgau of Cocoa Beach, FL., Dean Jeffrey Engelgau of Sacramento, CA and Jay Christopher Engelgau of Fredrick, MD; four grandchildren, Corrine and Nicole Engelgau of Cocoa Beach, FL and Sara and Aaron Koslow of Rockville, MD; three sisters, Marjorie Stein of Port Huron; Elinor (Ronald) Siemen and Kay (Jerome) Gibson both of St. Clair. Mr. Engelgau was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Donald Stein. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Edward On-The-Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph M. Esper, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Military services will be conducted under auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council. In lieu of flowers memorials in Don's memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the Intrepid Fallen Heroes.
