Geraldine Cutcher
June 28th, 1910 to March 5th, 2006
Geraldine Grace Cutcher, 95, of Port Huron, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2006. She was born June 28, 1910, in Emmett, Michigan, to the late Andrew Jackson and Marcella Grace Cutcher. Miss. Cutcher, a graduate of Wayne State University, was a teacher for 39 years, working in the Port Huron Area School District for 32 years. She retired from Roosevelt Elementary School in 1975. She was a member of the National Education Association and the Michigan Education Association. Miss. Cutcher was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Newman Center. She was also a member of several animal advocacy organizations and a supporter of environmental conservation. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Marjorie Fletcher, Shirley Brazil, Rose Marie Collingwood, and Suzanne Ordowski; and three brothers, Leo B. Cutcher, James Odell Cutcher, and Andrew J. Cutcher, II. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher, Pastor will officiate. Inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Roosevelt Elementary School Media Fund, for books and other learning materials and the Newman Center.
