Rosemary Dazer

Rosemary Dazer, 75, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in Caro, MI after a long illness. She was born in Port Huron on October 20, 1930 to John and Frances Baska. Rosie was a 1948 graduate of Port Huron High School and a former operator for the Bell Telephone Company. She married Charles T. "Chub" Dazer on October 9, 1954 and began raising their family. Later she went to work at City-County Credit Union. In retirement, she worked part time at JC Penney until she moved to Caro in 2000. Rosemary was a charter member of the Twins Mothers Club of St. Clair County. She was honored as Twin Mother of the year in 1965. Before his death, Rosie and Chub participated in dance club, camping, and playing with their grandchildren. Rosie loved gardening, needlework and spending time with her family. Rosie will be remembered for her faith, devotion to her family, and her undefeatable determination. Rosemary is survived by her five children, Denise (Lee) Steffen of Caro, MI; Diane (Mark) Schoof of Wyoming, MI; David (Sarah) Dazer, Dennis (Sandra) Dazer all of Port Huron and Douglas Dazer of Caro. Her seven grandchildren Sara (Robert) VanderVeen, Courtney Dazer, Aaron Steffen, Gregory Dazer, Elizabeth Schoof, Emily Dazer, Michael "Toby" Schoof and her great granddaughter, Lia Rosemary VanderVeen and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Dazer, her parents John and Frances Baska, a sister Phyllis Oldford, and a brother Fred Baska. Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 -9 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Saturday at 12 noon. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Sara and Robert VanderVeen, Aaron Steffen, Gregory Dazer, Courtney Dazer and Jason Sklba.
