Tammi Kay Duenaz Red Oak - Tammi Kay Duenaz, 43, of Red Oak, formerly of Port Huron, died Monday, March 20, 2006 in Grayling unexpectedly. She was born May 26, 1962 in Port Huron. Tammi owned the Knotty Pine Cafe of Red Oak for 5 years. She adopted and rehabilitated wild animals. She loved being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her 3 dogs, Simba, Mocha and Skylo; her lifelong companion, Duane Amesse of Red Oak; Daughter, Brandi A. Duenaz (Jeff Smerer) of Port Huron; grandson, Ayden Smerer of Port Huron; mother, Patricia Tarzwell of Port Huron; stepchildren, Mark (Maria) Amesse and Tricia Amesse-Szymanski, both of Port Huron, Karrie (Lank) Green of Kimball and Jamie (Tiffany) Frazer of Port Huron; sister, Becky (Jay) Zavitz of Florida; brother, Michael (Marsha) Tarzwell of Colorado; brother, Larry (Tammy) Bejma of Port Huron; sisters, Debbie (Dave) McIntyre of Port Huron and Sherry (Len) Amesse of Benton Harbor; brother, Mark (Roxanne) Tarzwell of Port Huron; 11 step-grandchildren; best friend, Robin Wetzel of Port Huron; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Carl Tarzwell; brother, Rusty Tarzwell; step-granddaughter, Anastasia Amesse; special friend, Linda Rising. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate. Visiting will be from noon until the service time Saturday. Memorials may be to the family.
