Ravena Pickering

Ravena J. Pickering, 78, of Smiths Creek, passed away Friday, June 9, 2006 after a short illness. Ravena was born September 30, 1927 in Port Huron to the late Ray and Lila Bickle. She married Gathel Pickering on May 28, 1945 in Port Huron. Ravena worked and retired from Prestolite Wire Company after 30 years of employment. She loved Sunny Bird, golfing, playing bridge at the Elk's and crocheting and knitting afghans for family and friends. Ravena is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Gathel; her five children, Ronald (Carol) Pickering of Clinton Township; Larry (Roberta) Pickering of Holiday, FL; Jeffery (Mary) Pickering of Avoca; Tammy (Jonnie) Kramp of Avoca ; Linda Pickering of South Daytona Beach, FL and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her brother Wayne Bickle and sister Fern Patterson. Cremation arrangements are by the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Memorial's in Ravena's memory are requested to Safe Horizons For Abused Women and Children.
