Rose Holzberger

Roseline B. Holzberger Port Huron - Roseline "Rose" Barbara Holzberger, 87, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2006. She was born October 12, 1918 in Port Huron and was a lifelong area resident. She married Joseph B. Holzberger on October 1, 1938 in Port Huron. Together they raised seven children. He died January 21, 1993. Rose was a member of St. Stephens Church. She loved canning, cooking and playing bingo. She ironed clothing for several doctors. She also enjoyed walking and did so for many years. Others that walked with her had a hard time keeping up.. Rose was very dedicated to her husband and children. She was always there to send her children off to school and home when they would return. She was always helping someone, and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick J. and Jerri Holzberger of Providence, RI; son, James F. Holzberger of Port Huron and daughter and son-in-law, Virginia Lee and Randy Arnold of Otisville, MI; sixteen grandchildren, Cheryl, Lori, Brian, Brenda, Julie, Rick, Kevin, Lisa, Jennifer, Jim, Pam, Ron, Kim, Shelly, Amy Lynn and Joe; twenty-six great grandchildren; brothers, Stan Cesefske, Jr, Ted and Joe Cesefske and a sister, Mary Lou Rowbotham. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; sons, Joseph, Jr., Ronald C., William F. and Charles A. Holzberger. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. No visiting is scheduled. Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice or Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home.
