Camilla Mosher

Florence Camilla Carlsen Mosher, 79, of Fort Gratiot Township, died Friday, August 18, 2006 in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. She was born July 6, 1927 to Alfred and Ruth Carlsen in Detroit, Michigan. Camilla married George W. Mosher on May 1, 1948 in All Saints Episcopal Church, Pontiac, Michigan officiated by the Reverend Austin DuPlan. Camilla was a devoted wife and mother enjoying each moment with her children and grandchildren promoting education and conservation. She served as a Girl Scout leader and was president of the Campfire Girls. She was active in Grace Episcopal Church's many activities including Altar Guild and the Wednesday Coffee Committee and many other community organizations. Camilla attended Central Michigan University majoring in speech correction and oratory. She received Distinguished Recognition in debate. She is survived by George, her husband of 58 years; their children, William and Robyn Mosher, Kristine Mosher, Julia and Henry Sobell, Mary and Kirk Stathes and Emily and Matthew Wallace; her grandchildren, Bryan and Arwen Mosher, Benjamin and Michelle Weston, Jacob Sobell, Steven Sobell, George Sobell, Florence Ann Sobell, Corbu Stathes, Annie Stathes, Katherine Stathes, Luke Wallace and Elizabeth Wallace; great grandchildren, Andrew Weston and Logan Weston; sister-in-law, Marjorie Carlsen; sister, Christina and Kent Crawford and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Carlsen, Jr. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday August 21, 2006 in Grace Episcopal Church, 6th and Court Streets, Port Huron.
