J. A. 'Tony' Guizar

Ft. Gratiot- J.A. "Tony" Guizar, 80, of Ft. Gratiot, died Saturday, September 23, 2006 in Port Huron Hospital unexpectedly. He was born June 30, 1926 in Tinguindin, Mexico and lived in Port Huron all his life. Tony married the former Margaret Howard on June 18, 1949 in Port Huron. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. Tony owned Port Pontiac for many years, was formerly employed at Cawood Auto Sales and owned and operated Tony Guizar Car Center. Since 1985 Tony has worked along side his son at Michael's Car Center. He was a hard working man that loved his family, friends, his home, and gardening. He was also member of the Port Huron Exchange Club. Tony is survived by his wife, Margaret of Ft. Gratiot; daughters, Cynthia J. Guizar of Haslett, MI, Antoinette "Toni" Hayes of Ft. Gratiot, Shelly (Randy) Fernandez of Port Huron and Roxanne (Jerry) Moses of Walled Lake. Son, Michael A. Guizar and Tammy Muma and her children Justin & Mackenzie; daughter Tina M. Farquhar of Port Huron; son-in-law, Brad Fechter of Saginaw; grandchildren, Andrew, Angela, Sarah, Jennifer, Marissa, Michael, Johnny, Mitchell, Matthew, Zach, Carly, Tony, Madeline, Kaden, Brian, Katelyn and Morgan; great-grandchildren, Jon, Joe, Olivia, Hunter and Harlow. Brother, Salvador "Peanuts" (Carmen) Guizar of Port Huron; sister, Cruz Zepeda of Mexico and several very special friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Candace J. Fechter; parents, Antonio and Elvira Guizar; brothers, Jesse, Ray, Frank and a sister Delfina Vasques. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Simeon T. Iber, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. this evening and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
