Christina Hall

March 16th, 1917 to February 5th, 2007
Christina D. Hall, age 89, of Port Huron , went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 5, 2007 in Port Huron Hospital following a short illness. She was born March 16, 1917 in Port Huron and had been a life long area resident. Christina married Harold Beatty he preceded her in death in 1956. Her second husband Melvin Hall also preceded her in death in 1991. She retired from the Port Huron Paper Company in 1972 after 30 years of employment. She attended school in Port Huron and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the League of Catholic Women. Christina was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing on Tuesdays at McMorran with the 59'ers Club. On Wednesday a group played at the Senior Center. She also participated in the League of Catholic Women bridge marathon for several years with her dear friend, Margaret Collins. During her marriage to Mel, they were active members of the Port Huron Yacht Club. She remained an honorary member and continued to enjoy her friendships there. Her greatest pleasure was time spent with her family, especially James and Christopher. Christina was the last living child of Benedetto and Carmela DiDuca. She is survived by her loving daughter Janet and son-in-law James Bonadio, grandson James A.M. Bonadio of California and Christopher N. Bonadio of Ohio. Sisters-in-law Violet Barnes, Pearl Beattie, Florance Sayers, Betty Little, Marilyn Maynard and Thelma Manglos all of Port Huron. Brother-in-law Harold (Thelma) Hall of California. Nephews Joseph (Jo) Mancini, Eugene (Louise) Mancini, Robert (Janice) Mancini, and Robert (Barbara) Humes all of Port Huron, Mark (Lillian) DiDuca, Joseph (Barb) DiDuca of California, Richard Egan, Jerry Meyer of California and Thomas (Nancy) DiDuca of Chicago. Nieces Joyce (Norm) Khinley and Antonia DiDuca-Broughton of California and several other nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews. Christina was preceded in death by her parents Benedito and Carmella DiDuca. Brothers and sisters-in-law James and Mary DiDuca of California, Albert and Louise DiDuca of Port Huron. Sisters and brothers-in-law Rose and John Valente of Port Huron, Sarah and Earl Norman of Indiana, Mary and Howard Krieger of Florida and Carmella DiDuca of Port Huron. Nephews George Norman of Illinois, Raymond Humes of Warren. Nieces Dorothy Egan and Stella Meyer of California. A celebration of Christina's life will be 10 am Monday in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Simeon T. Iber, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 am Monday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Sunday evening. Memorials in memory of Christina may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or the St. Clair County Council On Aging.
