Kenneth Fraley

Kenneth E. Fraley Kimball - Kenneth Edward Fraley, age 71, died in his home in the company of his family on Saturday, February 10, 2007, following complications of Renal Failure. He was born July 9, 1935 in Columbus Township to Neil and Evelyn (Seifert) Fraley. He graduated from Memphis High School in 1954. He served in the U. S. Army from 1955-1956. He married Joyce A. Bennett on November 23, 1959, in St. Joseph Church. Ken retired from Detroit Edison St. Clair Power Plant in January 2000 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed dinners with his entire family, cooking prime rib and turkeys (his specialties) , spending time on his farm, cutting hay and feeding the animals and working in the garden. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce; daughters Kathleen Young, Karen Gresell, Anne-Marie Longley; sons Kevin (Sarah) and Shane (fiancee' Collette Simmonds) Fraley; grandchildren, Jessica (David), Jonathon (Laura), Justin, Kristie (Billy), Nicole, Kellie, Jacqueline, Patrick, Megan, Tiffany, Joseph, Caitlyn, Savannah, Miranda and Gabriel; great grandchildren, Giovonni, Dion, Irene, Ericka and Braylon. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank (Maryann), Gaius (Loretta), Dennis (Joanne), Richard (Mary Lou), Allen and Steven (June); sisters, Phyllis (James) Schweiger, Marguerite (Jerry) Mugridge, Melanie (Charles) Priehs, Cheryl (Jim) Russell; sisters-in-laws, Delores Fraley, Phyllis Fraley and Christine Fraley; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Evelyn Fraley; brothers, Gerald, Neil and Eugene. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Emmett. The Rev. Paul S. Czarnota will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gaius, Dennis, Richard and Steven Fraley, Philip Thigpen and John Renehan. Visiting hours are 12-3 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Mass intentions are preferred for memorial donations.
