Mertie Rowland

Mertie K. Rowland Croswell - Mertie K. Rowland, 90, died at home Sunday, February 25, 2007. She was born November 11, 1916 in Mohawk, TN. She married Herman G. Rowland. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Houston on July 14, 1994. She enjoyed traveling and spending time in her second home in Arizona. She is survived by her children, June (Walter) Root of Deckerville and Dennis Rowland of North Street; grandchildren, James Root, Keith Root, Shannon (Steve) Jackson, Sabrina (Mark) Vincent and Samantha (Shayne) Walker; great grandchildren, Brian, Jason, Brooke, Adeline, Isaac, Caleb, Auston and Alyvia. Funeral service will be 12 noon Wednesday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak. Visiting hours are 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
