Julia A. O'Hara Port Huron - Julia Ann O'Hara, 100, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007. She was born January 4, 1907 in St. Clair, the daughter of Catherine (Fitzgerald) and William Wells. She married the late Lieutenant James J. O'Hara in 1937. They had four daughters, Mary Elizabeth (William) Dietz of Grosse Pointe Park, Catherine Ann (Frederick) Kidd of Marysville, Frances Theresa (the late Louis) Master of Marysville and Sheila Joan (Michael) Gavin of Clinton Twp. Julia is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Julia was a retiree of the Port Huron Times Herald. She was a life member and past president of the League of Catholic Women. She was also active in Church Women United and was a founding member of Meals of Wheels, as well as a recipient of that organizations Valiant Woman Award. Julia was an avid bridge player and in 1996 was the grand Marshall of Port Huron's St. Patrick's Day Parade. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Church, 1505 Ballentine, Port Huron. The Rev. Simeon Iber, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. There will also be visiting Thursday at church from 9 a.m. until the service time. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, William Dietz, Dr. James Dietz, Kevin Dietz, Shawn Gavin, Eric Gavin and Stephen Rogers. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Tree of Life Memorial Fund.
