Obituary Notice - Elizabeth N. Wixson Noble Marysville - Elizabeth Nims Wixson Noble, of Marysville, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died peacefully April 24, 2007 at her residence at the Camburn Adult Care Facility in Grand Blanc, MI. She was 88. Elizabeth was born in Detroit on May 20, 1918, the daughter of Roscoe and Claire Louise Wixson. After living in Detroit and Flint as a young girl, Elizabeth moved to Port Huron at age 12 and resided in Port Huron and Marysville most of her life. She graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1936 and then attended Port Huron Business College. She was employed as a receptionist until the time of her marriage. Elizabeth married the love of her life, Dr. G. Albert Noble on Dec. 27, 1947. Her true vocation was caring for her family, and her children and grandchildren were her great joy. Elizabeth was a lady to her fingertips, and enjoyed all things beautiful and lovely. She loved to watch birds, play bridge, smile at any child she saw, and cheer for her beloved Detroit Tigers. Elizabeth was a member of the "Tuesday Night Bridge Club" for about 70 years, playing with her lifelong friends. In later years she baked dozens of cookies every week to hand out to the neighborhood children, and became known as the "Cookie Lady" in Presidential Estates in Marysville. Her positive outlook and loving nature made the world a better place, and all who knew her were enriched. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Nancy and husband Richard Johnson of Harrison, MI and Naples, FL, Beth and husband John Reynolds of Swartz Creek, MI, son Richard and wife Sherry Noble of Concord, CA, sisters-in-law Helen Wixson Leavey of Howell, MI and Jean Wixson of NJ, dear niece Heather O'Donnell, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989, and brothers Phillip and Jerry Wixson. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Marysville, MI. Fr. Art Baronowski will officiate with burial to follow at Riverlawn Cemetery in Marysville. Elizabeth's family will receive friends at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home in Port Huron Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 2:00-5:00 and 6:30-8:30, and Friday from 10:00 AM until the service begins at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher Church, Marysville, to Powers Catholic High School, Flint, or to Avalon Hospice, Flint. Special thanks to her caregivers Theresa Jenks, Jenna Cheff, Cyndi Shepherd and all the caring nurses and staff at Avalon Hospice.
