Mary Wit

Mary Jane (Tocco) Wit, 81, of Port Huron, but formerly of St. Clair Shores, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007. She was born January 11, 1926 in Detroit. Mary married Ludwik "Lou" Wit February 12, 1950 in Detroit. She was employed as a school secretary at the Grosse Pointe Academy. Mary was well known for her knitting. She is survived by her husband, Ludwik "Lou" Wit; children, Roger (Susan) Wit, Derek (Mary Ann ) Wit, David (Shelley) Wit , Marilou (Dan) Shaughnessy and Brian (Jane) Wit; 14 grandchildren and her sisters, Margaret Moschelli and Rose Scovone. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Tocco and her sister, Sarah Fontana. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8:00 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Visiting will also be on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service time. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Rev. Msgr. George T. Browne, Senior Priest, will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as her pallbearers.
