Herbert Lewandowski

Port Huron - Herbert C. Lewandowski, 90, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 in his daughter's home following a short battle with cancer. He was born September 10, 1917 in Port Huron. He married Gertrude B. Wisswell on August 24, 1941. Herb was a TV repairman for over 50 years and worked several years for Marengo Appliance. He put himself through radio school despite having only a 10th grade education. Herb loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude "Trudie" Lewandowski; his son, Ronald Lewandowski; daughters, Karolyn (Dale) Ashton and Jane (Richard) Brooks; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Chester (Mildred) and Richard (Frances) Lewandowski; sisters, Donna Beattie and Ann (Harley) Thomas and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil and Vernon Lewandowski. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Elder Harley Thomas, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Ashton, Adam Falk, Michael Brooks, Heath Brooks, Harold Beattie and Nathan Wilkins. Visiting hours are 6-9 p.m. today and 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, Wadhams Grove Community of Christ Church or the Marysville RLDS Church.
