Gerald DeLano

Mr. Gerald Edward DeLano, 67, of Port Huron, died Friday, January 18, 2008 in Henry Ford Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. DeLano, was born October 31, 1940 in East Detroit Michigan, to Alvin D. and Theresa A. (Regner) Delano. He was employed at Wirtz Manufacturing for several years, but most recently owned and operated G.E.D. Used Cars in Kimball Township from 1974 until 2005 when he retired. He is survived by his children, Jerry (Renee) DeLano, Keith (Betty) DeLano, Greg (Brenda) DeLano, Tim DeLano and Michelle (Kevin) Cates Grandchildren, Shawn DeLano, Paul DeLano, Kelly Delano, Eric DeLano, Brian DeLano, Missy DeLano, Tracy DeLano, Stephanie DeLano, Chad DeLano, Marcus DeLano, Cory Mugridge, Aleesha Mugridge and Brianna Cates. Mother, Theresa A. DeLano; brothers, Dennis DeLano and Donald DeLano; sisters, Theresa (DeLano) Brown, Mary (DeLano) Patrick, Jeanette (DeLano) Maertens, Renee (DeLano) Force, Beverly (DeLano) Owens, several nieces and nephews and long loving friend Jackie Meldrum. Gerald was preceded in death by his father Alvin D. DeLano on August 21, 1981 and his niece Carrie Eschker Bahr. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home.
