Storm Vander Zee Bradt

July 27th, 1947 to August 22nd, 2008

Trying to condense a person's entire life into a few short paragraphs is an incredibly daunting task. Storm Vander Zee Bradt was a truly unique individual, and anyone who ever met him would likely agree. He was a world traveler, able to speak numerous languages conversationally and loved to relate tales of the various places he had visited and people he had met. He had a long-standing painting business, Painting by Storm which will continue being run by Arent, one of his sons. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, he was also a NAHI licensed home inspector and had a builder's license. He was a Scout Leader of the Boy Scouts of America for nearly two decades. He was a sailor, a member of the Lion's Club and a teacher at various times in his life. He attended St. Mary's parish, and was an active member of the community. Always quick with a joke and a smile, he was a wonderful and loving man, friend and father. He will be dearly missed not only by his three sons, Storm, Arent and Barent, his dear friend Rose and by everyone who knew him. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Marys Catholic Church. The Rev. Simeon T. Iber, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorials in memory of Storm may be given to Mercy Hospital Oncology.
