Mary J. Roehl, 88, of Fort Gratiot, formerly of Harrison Township, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, after a short illness.

She was born December 13, 1926 in Detroit. She married John F. Roehl on June 18, 1949 in St. David Catholic Church, Detroit. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2004.

Mary’s pride and joy was her family and she loved being around both her immediate and extended families.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Ann (Jack) Greer, Patricia L. (Garry) Isaacson and Deborah Ann (Keith) McKenzie; grandchildren, Jessica L. (Jared) DeWitt, Katherine A. Greer, Bethany A. (Justin) Rock, Matthew J. (Kelly) Greer, Jacqueline R. (Jeff) Davidson; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emmeline, Josephine, Violet and Noah; brother and sister-in-law, Robert M. and Julia Roehl; nephews, Robert F. (Pam) Roehl, Thomas M. Roehl and Douglas J. (Sue) Roehl, and niece, Carol J. (Greg) Schaff. She was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Reyntiens and her parents, Octave and Evelyn Verbeke.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the church. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
