Mr. John Thomas McLeod

John Thomas McLeod, 62, of Port Huron, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Mercy Hospital following a long illness.



He was born November 18, 1948 in Port Huron son of the late Neil and Jean (Hunter) McLeod.



John married Laura A. Lepien in Port Huron.



He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division. John enjoyed fishing, carving and traveling.



John is survived by his wife Laura A. McLeod of Port Huron; daughter, Debra (Victor) Tanton of St. Clair; daughter, Stacey (Chad) Wolvin of Port Huron; son, Ron Buckner and fiancee' Rebecca Green of Galesburg, IL; grandchildren, Hayley Tanton, Rochelle Tanton and Keith Wolvin; sister, Sue Pickard of Ft. Gratiot; sister, Christine (Toppy) Pattison of Port Huron; brother, Norman McLeod of Port Huron; father and mother in-law, Lloyd (Carol) Lepien of Clyde; special friend, Duwain Belkiewicz of Port Huron and several nieces, nephews and numerous other friends.



He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer; brother, Donald McLeod; sister, Betty Jowett and special friend Gary “Sarge” Sargent.



Memorial services will be 12 noon Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Long time family friend, Jeff Baron will officiate. Military Honors will follow under auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.



Visiting hours are 7-9pm Tuesday and 11 am until service time Wednesday in the funeral home.



Memorials in memory of John may be given to the Ronald McDonald House.
