Harold Parker

Harold William Parker, 71, died Saturday, October 6, 2007 in Evangelical Home. He was born September 23, 1936 in Port Huron to the late Roy William and Thelma Janette (Todd) Parker. He owned homes in Port Huron and Buel Township, Croswell and lived in Port Huron all his life. He attended Port Huron Schools and graduated from Port Huron Junior College with an Associates's Degree in Pharmacy. He served in the U.S. Army in Fort Sill, Oklahoma for 2 years and 8 months. He was assistant manager for Jack Smith Union Farmers until going into the Army. He worked at Mueller Brass Company for 42 years. He belonged to the Mueller Brass Quarter Century Club and was an avid florist and gardener. He was a member of Gratiot Park United Methodist Church all his life and was a very giving person. Harold is survived by his brothers Mr. And Mrs Donald L. (Linda) Parker of North Street and Mr. And Mrs Robert G. (Barbara) Parker of Port Huron; nephew, Thomas A. Parker of North Street; nieces, Susan (Alex) Popple of Farnham, Surrey, England; Rebecca Parker of Ferndale and Kristen (Timothy) Hornby of Port Huron; two great-nephews, Brodey and Brennen Hornby and close friend Gary McGinnis. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy W. And Thelma J. Parker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Sperling will officiate. Burial will be in Croswell Cemetery. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home and 10 a..m. until service time on Tuesday. Military grave side services will be held under auspices of Post #2382 V.F.W., Lexington. Memorials may be given to Gratiot Park United Methodist Church.
