Noreen C. Crimmins, 80, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in her home.
She was born February 5, 1934 in Croswell, the daughter of the late William and Marion (Cook) Schoettle. She married Charles “Charlie” Crimmins on September 27, 1958. He died on January 4, 2013.
Noreen was a lifelong area resident and was a 1953 graduate of Yale High School. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and volunteered at the school for many years.
She loved to cook, read, spend time at the beach and tend to her flower gardens. She was an avid sports fan, but most of all, she loved her family and friends and was known for her hugs.
She is survived by her sons, Edward Crimmins and partner Dan Montgomery of Springboro, OH and John F. (Angela) Crimmins of Port Huron; her grandchildren Helen Crimmins, Laura (Matt) Wilson, Rebecca (Justin) Junell, Katherine A. (Phil) Ansell, Anthony Crimmins, Daniel Hutchinson and Maranda Bentley; sister, Donna Swegles of Port Huron, sister-in-law, Virginia Donnellon of Port Huron, brother-in-law, Michael (Mitzi) Crimmins of Port Huron Township, Martin (Jean) Crimmins of Fort Gratiot; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Port Huron. The Reverend Jacek Zdzieborski and Deacon Dennis Crimmins will officiate.
Visiting hours will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Monday at the church. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
A Prayer Service will be offered by Deacon Dennis Crimmins at 7:45 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
