Yvonne Marcelle Lesko, 92, of Fort Gratiot, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in Fort Gratiot.
She was born November 25, 1922 in Saint-Ouen–l’Aumône, France, the daughter of the late Raymond and Alice Glachant. She married John J. Lesko in 1945. He died in 1958.
Yvonne lived in New York for many years. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Edward on–the-Lake Catholic Church. Her faith, family and friends were very important to her.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Combs of Fort Gratiot; four grandchildren, Allison Combs and Ben Wu of Northville, Carol Lynn Combs of Fort Gratiot, Matt (Sandy) Zaic, Los Angeles, CA, Paul Zaic of Sterling, VA; two great- grandchildren, Audrey and Veronica Wu; and a brother, Yves Glachant of France. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bernadette Zaic, her brother, Roger Glachant and her sister, Lucienne.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 in St. Edward on- the-Lake Catholic Church with visitation for one hour prior in the church. Father Lee Acervo will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
