Douglas Norman Norton, 63, of Port Huron, died Friday, June 19, 2015.
He was born October 15, 1951, in Port Huron, to the late Dudley and Kathleen (Miller) Norton. He married Kathryn E. Klammer on January 15, 2005 in Port Huron.
Douglas was a 1970 graduate of Port Huron Northern High School. He was employed at Lucas Funeral Home, Johnson Ambulance, Farmer Jack and SEMCO Energy from where he retired.
He enjoyed collecting items from the 50’s and 60’s and was a Detroit Tigers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; step-children, Jessica (Mark) Jones and William (Kim) Cowger; step-grandchildren, Marisa and Matthew Jones, Kylie Cowger and Austin Fox; sisters, Heather Story and Leslie (Michael) Dias; nieces and nephews, Renee (Tommy) Reedy, Janessa and Benjamin Story, Tyson and Aaron Dias, William (Sara) Klammer and Jeniece Klammer; great-niece, Julia Reedy; brother-in-law, John (Rachel) Klammer; aunts and uncles, Bud (Barbara) Cruickshank, Marilyn Yeager, Jean Child and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by father and mother-in-law, Bud and Barb Klammer.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the International Flag Plaza on Thomas Edison Parkway. Donald Sheldon and Major John Klammer will officiate.
Arrangements are by Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Memorials contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society or the Visiting Nurses Association.
