William J. Crimmins
December 4th, 1925 to February 14th, 2010
William J. Crimmins, 84, of Fort Gratiot, died Sunday February 14, 2010 following a short illness.
He was born December 4, 1925 in Port Huron and was a life long area resident.
Bill married Dorothy J. Lents on July 9, 1955 in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, Marysville.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. Bill retired from U.S. Customs after 25 years and traveled with the Red Cross. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He loved coaching and enjoyed woodworking, golfing, baseball, softball and bowling.
He is survived by his lovely bride Dorothy J. Crimmins of Fort Gratiot; son, Timothy (Judy) Crimmins of Rochester; son, Michael Crimmins of Lake Orion; daughter, Annette Crimmins of Holland, MI; son, Thomas (Anita) Crimmins of Port Huron; grandchildren, Charlie, Adam, Lindsay, Brian, Christopher, Kyle, Meghan, Steven, Katie, Joey, Jeffrey and Emily; brother, Edward Crimmins of Flint; brother, Thomas (Joan) Crimmins of Port Huron and sister, Sr. Mary Elizabeth Crimmins O.P. of Adrian.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mattie (Marx) Crimmins and brothers Donald, Jack and James Crimmins.
Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Msgr. William Duncan will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery with military honor's under auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
Visiting hours are 2-8 pm Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10am Thursday at the church. A scripture service will be held at 7 pm Wednesday evening.
His grandsons will serve as his pallbearers.
Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Adrian Dominicans.
