Jeanne E Fisher
Jeanne Elizabeth Fisher, 93, of St. Clair, died Thursday, July 6, 2017.
Jeanne Elizabeth Fisher was born on May 29th, 1924, in Port Huron. She was the third of five children born to Roy and Clara (Koob) Fisher. The family lived in the Port Huron and St. Clair areas.
Jeanne graduated from St. Stephen Catholic High School, in Port Huron, and completed her Nursing Education in Michigan. She fulfilled her lifelong passion as a Nurse primarily in the Detroit area after an early career in Arizona.
Jeanne was an avid sports fan, enjoying golf, basketball, hockey and baseball. Her gardening efforts abounded. She enjoyed get togethers with her nurse friends, lunches at the Voyager, and time spent with relatives. She was known for her bright red lipstick kisses she left on the cheeks of her nephews and nieces. The Koob Family Tree was documented back to the 1600’s in Germany, which she reveled in the research.
Jeanne kept her dogs, Devon, Toby and Amy in treats and they provided lots of antics for her. The mailman was always busy delivering catalogs and packages she ordered. Her independent spunk was well known, to the point of leaving the hospital the same day she had major surgery. Her determination to do things “Her Way” prevailed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings, Dorothy (Robert) Alpin, Dr. Robert (Leona) Fisher, Charles (Kerry) Fisher and Richard (Kathleen) Fisher, along with her beloved Aunts, Agnes and Margaret Koob. She is survived by numerous nephews and nieces, with special recognition to Sheila Fisher, who spent the last nine years caring for her.
A Memorial Service is planned for Jeanne and her sister-in-law, Kathleen (Sue) Fisher Lester at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 14, 2017, at the Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery Chapel, Port Huron, where the Koob/Fisher Families rest.
