Madeline Colleen Papineau, 85, of Fort Gratiot, died Saturday March 5, 2011 in Port Huron Hospital.
She was born May 9, 1925 in Port Huron to the late Frederick W and Agnes (Beeler) Ernst.
She married Edward L. Papineau on October 3, 1951.
Madeline was a 1943 graduate of St. Stephen High School. She loved to play bingo. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting and was an avid Detroit Tiger Fan.
She is survived by her husband Edward L. Papineau of Fort Gratiot; son, Edward Papineau II of Fort Gratiot; grandson, Edward Papineau III of Fort Gratiot; granddaughter, Piper Colleen Papineau of Fort Gratiot; brother, William Ernst of Burtchville and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Melvin, Earl, Frederick C. and Michael Ernst; sisters, Elinor Goodman and Donna Harrison.
Mass of Resurrection will be 10am Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Zbiginew Zomerfeld will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:30 am Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
