Catherine Cowhy

Catherine Lamoyne Cowhy, age 93, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021. Lamoyne (known to friends as "Katie"), was born on April 27, 1927 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, the daughter of Francis "Buck" and Irene Fike. She is survived by her sister in-law Sandra A. Fike, special niece and nephews Craig (Barb) Fike, David (Sandra) Fike, and Karen (Chris) Bryant; 8 great nieces and nephews, Lauren (Steve) Waligora, Olivia Fike and Austin (Shayne) Fike, Stephen (Chelsea) Fike, Jonathan Fike, Matthew (Ceili) Bryant, Michael (Mary Elizabeth) Bryant and Samantha (Den) Bryant and five great-great nieces and nephews: Penelope and Harrison Waligora, Audrey and Henry Fike and Patrick Bryant. She is preceded in death by her husband Patrick Cowhy, brother William (Bill) Fike, brother John (Jack) Fike, and baby sister Irene Fike In 1944, she graduated from St. Stephens High School in Port Huron. She met her beloved husband Patrick soon thereafter. They married on February 3, 1951. She worked at Mueller Brass Co. as an administrative assistant. For the majority of her long life, she lived in Port Huron, and in later years spent winters in Punta Gorda, Florida where she and Pat enjoyed lasting friendships within their community A devout Catholic, Lamoyne was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for many years. She loved being with family and had an active role in the lives of her much loved niece and nephews and their children. Her most treasured time was babysitting and playing with her great nieces and nephews. She spoiled and loved them as her own. A Celebration of Lamoyne's Life will be held at St Mary's Catholic church on Saturday March 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
