Michael T "Mike" Landon
Michael Thomas “Mike” Landon, 75, of Port Huron, Michigan passed away May 17, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family.
He was born on November 7, 1945 in St. Clair, Michigan to Eleanor and Norbert Landon.
Mike graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1963. He joined the Air Force and served during the Vietnam War in Japan. One of his favorite places to spend time was in St. Clair, enjoying fish frys and cold beer with his brothers and friends while watching the freighters go by.
Mike had a successful and fulfilling real estate career with Premier Properties in Lexington, Michigan for the past 28 years. He was working on deals weeks before his death, dictating details to his family members. He loved working out and socializing with all of his gym buddies at Cutting Edge. Mike continued going to the gym during cancer treatment, only stopping when COVID worries arose.
Mike’s greatest joy was his children. He loved being with them and repeatedly tried to influence their political views with interesting articles and e-mail forwards. He was always encouraging and supportive regardless of the situation. Mike always had time for his family and would rise to the occasion even when he was feeling poorly due to treatment. One of Mike’s favorite sayings was, “We’re not here for a long time. We’re here for a good time.”
Mike is survived by his children, Courtney Landon (Troy Wangen), Katie (Travis) Frazer, Abby Landon, and Maggie (Nathaniel) Tortora; his siblings, Catherine Landon, Patrick Landon, and David (Margaret) Landon; his grandchildren, Samuel and Eleanor Frazer; as well as his beloved ex-wife, Kathleen Megan Landon.
There will be a small service for immediate family members later this year.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McLaren Port Huron Hospital Foundation or McLaren Homecare and Hospice.
