Obituary

Clement Howard Smith, 88, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 30, 2021.

He was born June 13, 1933 in Detroit to the late Leslie and Irene Smith.

Mr. Smith founded, owned and operated Smith Die & Mold, Inc. and Superb Products. As a young man, Clement was a Michigan State Golden Glove Boxing Champion. He then served in the U.S. Navy.

What brought Clem the most joy was spending time with his family. He was a member of Port Huron Church of Christ for over 50 years. He enjoyed golfing, collecting hats, and was a U of M fan.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret; five children, Leslie (Michelle) Smith, Greg Smith, Cheryl (William) Wilson, Lisa (Jeff) O’Brien, Colleen (Reggie) Lawrence; grandson, Jason Smith, who he treated more like a son; eight grandchildren, Meghan Smith, Jared Smith, Rachel (Marcus) Brandt, Courtney (Carlos) Sanchez, Nathan Wilson, Jason (Karla) Smith, Jessica Moore and Josilyne Moore; and ten great grandchildren, Eli & Liam Smith, Beckham Brandt, Thalia and Maci Sanchez, Adasyne, Hudson and Holton Smith, Araelyne Moore and Azalayah Cook.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Ministers Mark Smith and LaMar Black will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Jared Smith, Nathan Wilson, Carlos Sanchez, Marcus Brandt and Nathan O’Brien. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
