Chase H Hoyt

Chase Hunter Hoyt, 23, of Port Huron, formerly of Croswell, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

He was born April 19, 2002 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Serena VanWilgen. After moving to Michigan with his family, Chase graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School.

Chase was a commercial roofer and previously worked for Schena Commercial Roofing and Sheet Metal and Motherson Automotive. He had plans to become a union carpenter. Chase enjoyed playing basketball and pool and belonged to several local pool leagues.

He is survived by his parents, Serena and William Herman; siblings, Samantha (Josh) Williamson, Xavier (Anna) Herman, William Herman, John Herman and Preston Herman; a nephew, Leonardo; grandma, Jody VanWilgen; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including a very special uncle, Trenton Christiansen; and lots of wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Janice and John VanWilgen.

Visitation will be from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2025 and 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A time of sharing will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
