Francis T. “Frank” Burns, 79, of Kimball, died Monday, August 5, 2013 in his home.
He was born June 2, 1934 in Detroit and has lived in the Port Huron area all his life.
Frank married Loretta M. Hammond on July 20, 1957 in St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington.
He served in the U.S. Army. Frank retired from Local #463 after 25 years as Business Manager and was a member since 1965. He loved golfing, fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta M. Burns of Kimball; daughter Kelli K. (James) Helton of Port Huron; daughter-in-law, Lisa A. Burns of Port Huron; grandchildren, Katie, Kevin and Madalyn Burns and Chantel and Jeffery (Jessica) Helton; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice (Donald) Dolan of Kimball and Stella (Sam) Daigle of Sandusky, MI.
Frank was preceded in death by his son, Mark Francis Burns; brother, Clarence Burns and niece, Jackie Daigle.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Military honors will be held under auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7pm Wednesday and 11am until service time on Thursday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Hermelin Brain Tumor Center at Henry Ford Hospital.
