Kenneth G Marks

Kenneth G. Marks Jr. (KG), 68, of Smiths Creek died on August 22, 2013. He was born on January 6, 1945 in Corpus Christie, Texas to Kenneth and Doris Marks. After graduating from Port Huron High School in 1963, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 to 1968, which included deployment in Vietnam. He became skilled in many different trades over the course of his working life, including construction, welding, and HVAC. He loved the outdoors, was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign War Post 8465, and Disabled Veterans of America. After long suffering with the mental and physical effects of his time served in Vietnam, his enlarged heart and weakened immune system contributed to his death from pneumonia.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita, son, Kevin and Lisa Marks, daughter, Teresa and Rob Pionk, daughter, Elizabeth Marks and Chris Kinney, brother, Michael and Linda Marks, and 7 grandchildren Gary, Nick, Kameron, Christopher, Justin, Bradley, and Anthony, all of whom he loved very much. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, and his sister, Celia Sesi (Marks).
His family and friends are blessed with the legacy of his caring spirit. There will be a memorial service in his honor on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish Church 79780 Main Street in Memphis. On behalf of Ken, thank you to all of his friends, family, and those with whom he served, for their daily thoughts and prayers throughout his illness, and protection while he served. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the family.
