Obituary

William Robert “Billy” Goodin, 38, of Fort Gratiot, died Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

He was born August 9, 1982 in Detroit to Laurie Fante and the late William Goodin.

Billy worked for over 20 years in the restaurant industry. His career began at Outback Steakhouse, he then worked as executive head chef at P.F. Changs, and most recently as general manager at Boston Market. Billy graduated from Roseville High School and attended Baker College. He was known for his dedication, work ethic, and unwavering support of those who counted on him. Billy was an avid wrestling fan, and loved all things related to pro wrestling. He also enjoyed cheering on the Detroit Lions. Billy was always laughing, smiling, and had a great sense of humor. He was a jokester who loved to make prank phone calls and had a gift for making others smile.

He is survived by a daughter, Mya Goodin; his fiancée, Jessica Wade; his mother, Laurie Ann Fante; special nephew, Mikey Goodin; many cousins, including Sheila Fante (Marcus Stackpoole), Sean (Kristen) Boyd, Rhiannon (Todd) Konwinski, Jennifer Fante, Rick (Kelly) Leverence, Lisa Fante and Robert Fante; an aunt, Patty Fante; and uncles, Henry Fante, Robert (Darlene) Fante and Edward Fante. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Goodin; and an uncle, Dennis Fante.

Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the safety and comfort of others.

A private family service will follow the visitation at 6 p.m. Sunday. Celebrant Laurie Wilson will officiate. Friends may view the livestream of the service on Billy’s obituary page of the funeral home website.
