Joseph Nemeth

Dr. Joseph Nemeth, Ph.D., 73, of Orlando, FL, formerly of Burtchville, died Saturday, May 10, 2014.
He was born December 29, 1940 in Ithaca, New York, son of the late Joseph and Mary Nemeth Sr.
He received his doctorate from Windsor University, Windsor, Ontario Canada. He had a very successful career in automotive ceramic applications and was employed at Champion Spark Plug, where he patented the resistor spark plug. His career took him to San Diego, Calgary, Alberta, Pittsburgh and Vermont. He was also employed with Walt Disney World in Florida and the Council on Aging in Port Huron.
Joseph enjoyed tinkering with computers, fishing, reading the Bible and walking in the woods.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two daughters, Chandra Elskens and Kihm (Steve) Bates; a son, Joey Nemeth, Jr.; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Marianne (Jack) Cleary.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Deacon Linda Crane will officiate.
Visitation will be from 12 to 4 p.m. Thursday, in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Council on Aging or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
