Ruth Elizabeth Skell, 89, of Clyde Township, MI passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2012 with her family by her side.
Ruth was born in Detroit, MI on June 22, 1923 to Charles and Minnie Dengler. On September 10, 1971, she was married to Theodore B. Skell, who preceded her in death on December 27, 2001.
Ruth was a grateful and active member of her church, St. Stephen Parish, an adorer of nature, avid cookie-baker, and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her three children, Jerry, Rose (Ray Demers), and David; along with 10 beloved grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her dearest friend since the third grade, Rosemarie (Tooie) Mann.
She is preceded in death by a grandchild, Elizabeth Skell, her sister, Jane Englehard, and her brother, Ted Dengler.
Funeral services will be 10am Friday, December 7, 2012 in Holy Trinity Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate.
Visiting will be from 2 to 8 pm Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9am Friday in church. A Rosary will be recited at 7pm on Thursday.
